Who We Are

Ohio Contractor License Center is a service brand of National Contractor Services Corp, headquartered in Arizona. Our Ohio services build on the broader company’s experience supporting contractors through its Arizona and Utah Contractor License Centers.

We help organize the steps involved in contractor licensing, exam preparation, company setup, application preparation, bonds, and insurance resources. Our goal is to make those steps easier to understand and help you move forward with a clear plan.

Support for Ohio Contractors

Our team helps contractors plan their next steps based on their trade, business goals, and the communities where they intend to work. Ohio Contractor License Center is a private service provider, independent of the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board and other government agencies.

Why We Help Ohio Contractors

Knowing your trade is an important foundation. Starting a contracting business also means working through company formation, licensing requirements, exams, paperwork, and business protection. Those steps can take time away from the work you know best.

We help business owners connect those pieces. Whether you are starting your first company or expanding into Ohio, our team can help you understand the next steps and coordinate the services you need.

Clear Information

We explain the process in practical terms so you can make informed decisions about your business, the services you choose, and the work ahead.

Support Beyond the Application

We help connect licensing with company setup, exam preparation, bonds, insurance resources, and tools for running your business.

Our Mission

Empower people with information in a timely, accurate and concise manner that will allow them to make choices, grow and prosper.

For Ohio contractors, that means helping you understand the process, prepare for your next step, and build a business with the information and support you need.

Our History

Our story began with a contractor helping other contractors. These milestones describe the roots of National Contractor Services Corp and the services behind Ohio Contractor License Center.

  1. 1973

    A Foundation in Construction

Robert C. Bowman obtained his Arizona general contractor license and began building commercial and residential projects. His commitment to quality workmanship shaped the approach he later brought to contractor education and business support.

  2. 1983

    Contractors Helping Contractors

As other contractors turned to Robert for help obtaining their licenses, he founded Construction Seminars. The business grew from a practical need for training and support in the construction industry.

  3. 1993

    National Contractor Services Corp

Robert organized National Contractor Services Corp in Arizona. Utah Contractor License Center was also established that year, extending the company’s contractor support into another state.

  4. 1998–2000

Services for the Business Behind the License

Robert established Affordable Business and Contractor Insurance in 1998 and Trigon Staff Administrators in 2000, broadening the services available to help contractors manage business risks and employer responsibilities.

  5. 2003

    Continuing the Commitment

Robert sold the Arizona and Utah Contractor License Centers to his brother William Bowman and business partner Michael Shadel. Their leadership helped continue the company’s work in contractor education, licensing, and business services.
